Shame for Pakistan; Karachi identified as second-most risky city for tourists, repeated appearance in lists of “unlivable” cities

KARACHI: Pakistan's Karachi is the second most unsafe city for tourists. This is according to the recently released Forbes warning list. The report says that this Pakistani city has a rating of 93.12 out of 100.

Forbes released the list on July 11. Caracas in Venezuela tops the list with a rating of 100 out of 100, making it the most unsafe city for tourists. Second place goes to Karachi. In third place is Yangon, Myanmar with a rating of 91.67 out of 100.
Forbes compiled the list by taking into account crime, violence, terrorist threats to tourists, natural disasters and economic vulnerability.
Karachi is an unsafe city in the eyes of the US State Department in travel safety ratings. According to the report, Karachi is the most vulnerable city in terms of infrastructure security, which reflects the availability and quality of urban infrastructure.
The Forbes consultant said that 60 international cities were compared to find the most dangerous cities for tourists. There were seven main criteria. Karachi is consistently on the list of 'unlivable' cities.
In 2017, the Economist Intelligence Unit had reportedly named Karachi among the world's most unsafe cities. Karachi was included in the list of 'least livable' cities.
