Three critical, several injured after private bus overturns in Kottayam

KOTTAYAM: A bus overturned in Vettikkattumukku near Kottayam on Saturday night, creating panic and seriously injuring many. About 40 people were injured and three people among them have suffered serious injuries. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals. The accident happened at 7:15 pm on Saturday.

The bus lost control and overturned while taking a bend at Vettikkattumukku Gurumandiram junction near Thalayolaparambu. The bus named ‘Ave Maria’ shuttling on the Ernakulam-Pala route overturned. As per the latest reports, it is said that the driver’s health deteriorated which led to him losing control over the vehicle.

The bus was coming towards Kottayam from Ernakulam when the accident occurred.
