Bronze medalist Manu Bhaker saves the day for India at Paris Olympics

PARIS: Olympic bronze medal winner Manu Bhaker yet again saved the day for India after she qualified for the bronze medal match in the preliminary round of the 10m air pistol mixed doubles with Sarabjot Singh in Paris on Monday.

Manu and Sarabjot missed out on competing for gold by a single point. In the men's 10m air rifle final held on Monday, India's Arjun Babuta finished fourth by a narrow margin. Ramita finished seventh in the women's 10m air rifle final.

In the second match of Pool B in hockey, the Indian women's team drew 1-1 against a strong Argentina squad. Harmanpreet scored a penalty corner at the last minute to equalize for India. Indian men's team lost in the quarterfinals in archery, while medal hopefuls Satwik-Chirag reached the quarters in badminton doubles.

India's Major Matches on Tuesday

1 pm: Manu-Sarabjot combination will compete for bronze in mixed shooting.

4.45 pm: India will face Ireland in hockey.

5.30 pm: The final match of the group for the Satwik-Chirag alliance.

7.16 pm: In boxing, Amit Panghal, Jasmin and Preeti Pawar are in the field
