Two-year-old girl dies after falling into rainwater pit in Thiruvananthapuram

KILIMANOOR: In a tragic incident, a two-year-old girl met with a tragic end after falling into a rainwater pit while playing with her brother. The deceased has been identified as Roopa Rajeev (2), daughter of Kilimanoor Vayyattinkara native Rajeev and Varsha. The incident took place at around 6.30 pm on Monday.

According to sources, the child went missing while she was playing with her brother in the backyard of the house. The child was later found in the rainwater pit at the back of the house during the search carried out by the family members. Although the baby was immediately rushed to the Kadakkal Taluk Hospital, her life could not be saved. The body is kept in the mortuary. Kilimanoor police have registered a case into the incident. Roopa's brother is Jeeva Rajeev, an Anganwadi student. Rajeev is a wage labourer, while Varsha is a housewife.
