Army to continue search during night focusing on radar signal; flood light will be brought for search

WAYANAD: The Army will continue the search during the night in the landslide-hit Mundakkai, focusing on the location indicated by a radar signal. Although experts said that the first signal received from the area was unlikely to have come from a human body, it was decided to continue the search. According to the experts, the signal may have originated from a snake or a frog. The Army decided to continue the search after they obtained a strong signal from the area.

The search conducted by the Army using Thermal Image Radar (Human Rescue Radar) had detected the presence of life under the debris in Mundakkai. According to an army official, three signals of breath were detected during the search. The signal was received from a depth of three meters. Although the officers searched the area by removing the soil, they were not able to find anything there.

Meanwhile, the number of people killed in the Wayanad landslides has reached 340. 206 dead bodies and 134 body parts have been recovered so far. DNA samples of the recovered body parts have been collected. According to reports, 206 people are still missing. 56 people are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.
