Heavy rain to continue for five more days

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that all districts in the state are likely to receive heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning for the next five days. Hilly regions are likely to receive more rain. Strong winds gusting up to 50 kmph are also expected over the state for the next few days. Following the rain warning, yellow and orange alerts have been issued for various districts in the coming days.

Orange alert (very heavy rainfall)
Tuesday (13-08-2024)- Pathanamthitta and Idukki
Wednesday (14-08-2024)- Ernakulam and Idukki

Yellow alert (heavy rainfall)
Tuesday (13-08-2024)- Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur

Fishermen in South Kerala and Lakshadweep coasts have been warned not to venture into the sea for fishing.
