SHIRUR: Karwar MLA Satish Krishna Sail said the search for Arjun of Kozhikode, who went missing in the landslide at Shirur in Karnataka, will resume soon. He also clarified that the search will be by Eshwar Malpe and not by the Navy. Eshwar Malpe has reached the spot.

The MLA was angry while talking to the media. The MLA blamed the Kerala government for not cooperating with them in any way. We were ready to bring things including the dredger and search for him. Demanded many times. He said that the only response from the Kerala government is that they are trying, even though we said that we are ready to pay the rent in advance.

There is no rain in the area for two days. The currents in the Gangavali river reached close to two knots. The weather is favorable for the search. The MLA stated that fishermen and a team of NDRF will join Eshwar Malpe. Reports said only Eshwar Malpe will search in the river today. It is reported that efforts are also being made to bring the dredger from Goa. The district administration had not given permission to conduct the search. The search is now being conducted on the initiative of the MLA.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar had yesterday said that there is a crisis in the search for Arjun in the river. He said that it is a challenge to continue search in the strong current in Gangavali river and however the mission will not end and the search will continue.
