10-year-old boy hangs self in Thrissur

THRISSUR: In a shocking incident, a ten-year-old boy was found hanging inside his house in Thrissur Chelakkara on Tuesday night. Asim Siyad, son of the Siyad-Shajita couple, hanged self to death inside his home.

After seeing the horrific sight of Asim hanging, the family barged into the room and rushed him to a private hospital in Thrissur, but his life could not be saved. Asim is a 5th-class student of Chelakkara SMT Government Higher Secondary School. Chelakkara police reached the spot and started further proceedings in the case.

In another such accident, a student died in Chelakkara while playing with a shawl that accidentally tangled the neck, choking her to death. Elvina (10), the only daughter of the Chelakkara natives Regi and Brisili, died. The incident happened around 9.30 last night. The shawl was accidentally wrapped around the neck of the child who was playing by the window in the room.

Regi was out of the house and when returned, saw the child in lifeless form pivoting by the window. She was rushed to a hospital in town but her life could not be saved.
