'What is there to be shocked about? Only the things we know have been disclosed in Hema Commission report'

KOCHI: Actress and WCC member Revathy stated that she was not shocked about the things mentioned in the Hema Commission.

"We (WCC) weren't surprised by the Hema Commission report's findings. We already knew about the issues. However, as the situation was that serious, we had to wait for the report to come out before we could demand action," Revathy said.

"WCC worked so hard to make Malayalam cinema a safe place for women. Although justice has been delayed, we thank the government for releasing the report. We haven't read the report. WCC will make a joint decision after going through the report. All our members stand united and every one of us is happy that the report came out," Revathy said.

The Hema Commission report, which reveals the issues faced by women in the Malayalam film industry, was released by the government today afternoon. The Department of Culture released the 233-page report after a years-long legal battle. Details revealing the identity of individuals have been avoided in the edited version of the report.
