THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Saji Cherian on Thursday came with a response to actor Parvathy Thiruvothu’s criticism of the government’s proposed film conclave. In a response directed at the actress, the Minister said the conclave would not be restricted to the Hema committee report but will also ponder on other serious topics. Parvathy earlier lamented the idea of a conclave that purportedly aimed to bring both the victims and culprits together on the same stage.

The minister said that the Hema committee report is serious. "The court has given an order. The government is ready to provide all the information. "

The government has no difference of opinion in this regard. The allegation of bringing both predators and prey to the same stage comes from total misunderstanding. A national conclave is being held to formulate the future policy of the film industry. Representatives of various organizations will participate. The government will go ahead with the conclave”- the minister said.

Parvathy Thiruvothu had earlier castigated the government for taking a snail pace approach even after the release of the report.

“Earlier they questioned the delay made by victims in filing a police complaint. Now, the report is out and what are the government still waiting for? Are they still hoping that the victims would file a complaint to the police? How many cases have the government taken in total after the report’s release?” asked Parvathy.
