KOCHI: The Ernakulam Magistrate's Court recorded the confidential statement of an actress who has filed a sexual harassment complaint against seven individuals, including actors Mukesh and Jayasurya. The statement was recorded from 2:30 p.m. and continued until the evening. The actress later told the media that she firmly stands by her complaint.
Other individuals named in the complaint are Idavela Babu, Maniyanpilla Raju, V.S. Chandrasekharan, Vichu and Noble. The actress's statement was also recorded by the special investigation team under the leadership of DYSP K.B. Benny at the Maradu station, specifically in relation to the case against Mukesh. The statement was recorded again to provide additional details ahead of the court’s consideration of Mukesh's anticipatory bail application on September 2.
Meanwhile, Mukesh arrived in Kochi and met with his lawyer, Jiyo Paul, handing over evidence in his possession. Mukesh plans to present further digital evidence, including WhatsApp chats and emails, during the hearing of his anticipatory bail application. He had previously submitted emails to the court suggesting a friendship with the actress, along with a voice message in which the actress allegedly demanded money.
However, the actress has refuted Mukesh's claims, stating that the evidence he submitted was fabricated. She denied ever sending any such emails to Mukesh. She acknowledged that she had agreed to mediate in an issue between Mukesh and his first wife, but questioned how she could have sent an email to someone who didn’t know how to use a laptop. "In 2009, when I met Mukesh on the set of the movie Calendar, I was holding a laptop. He asked me to come to his home to teach him how to use it. How could I send an email to someone who didn’t know how to use a laptop?" she said.
