Mammootty’s Valyettan was a huge hit in Kerala and there will be only a handful of Malayalees unheard of Arakkal Madhavan Unni. Madhavan Unni is a character in the old Mammootty film Valyettan, which was a box office hit. The character is now appearing in a new look. Most of the days, the film on television channels in Kerala can be seen again in theatres. The information was shared as a gift to fans yesterday on Mammootty's birthday.
The new poster of the film, which will be screened in 4k Dolby Atmos system, was released yesterday by the crew. The film will be released in the last week of September with new sound and new changes.
Valyettan directed by Shaji Kailas and written by Ranjith was released in 2000. Apart from Mammootty, the film had other casts including Shobana, Siddique, Kalabhavan Mani, Manoj K Jayan, Poornima Indrajith, N F Varghese, Vijayakumar and Sudheesh. The film was jointly produced by Baiju Ambalakara and Anil Ambalakara under the banner of Ambalakara Films. The songs penned by Girish Puthenchery and music composed by Rajamany were a big hit.
Old Mohanlal films such as Devadoothan and Manichitrathazhu were released in theaters with new technology. The fans accorded a grand reception to both films. The first few days of its re-release were houseful.
