THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The sale of Onam Bumper lottery tickets, which features a whopping ₹25 crore first prize, has reached a remarkable 37 lakh. Out of the 40 lakh tickets printed, 36,41,328 have already been sold, with Palakkad district emerging as the leader in sales. Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur follow closely behind.
In an effort to boost awareness, the Kerala State Lottery Department has intensified its campaign, emphasizing that state lottery tickets are sold exclusively in Kerala and only as physical, paper tickets. The campaign also highlights the department's ongoing battle against the sale of fake lottery tickets.
District-wise, Palakkad stands out with the highest number of ticket sales, totaling 6,59,240 tickets, including those sold through sub-offices. Thiruvananthapuram has recorded 4,69,470 ticket sales, while Thrissur has sold 4,37,450 tickets.
This year's Onam Bumper lottery offers a ₹25 crore first prize, the highest among the state's lotteries. The second prize of ₹1 crore will be awarded to 20 winners, while the third prize is ₹50 lakh. The fourth and fifth prizes are ₹5 lakh and ₹2 lakh, respectively, with a consolation prize of ₹500.
