THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Aleppey Ripples secured a convincing 52-run victory over Trivandrum Royals, courtesy of their bowlers' outstanding performance. After losing the toss, Aleppey Ripples, who batted first, scored 125 runs in 20 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Chasing a relatively small target, Trivandrum Royals struggled before the Alappey bowlers and eventually conceded a 52-run defeat. Aleppey's Akshay Chandran was named Player of the Match.
Akshay took 4 wickets in his four overs while giving away just 9 runs. Chasing a target of 126 runs, Trivandrum Royals were bowled out for 73 runs in 16.5 overs.
Mohammad Azharuddin and Krishna Prasad's opening partnership helped Aleppey score cross 50. When the score reached 51, captain Mohammad Azharuddin lost his wicket. Azharuddin scored 34 runs off 23 balls, including a six and four boundaries. Krishna Prasad, who scored 37 runs off 40 balls, was dismissed by Abdul Basith, with KN Harikrishnan taking the catch, leaving Aleppey's score at 85/3 in 13.3 overs. Aleppey then lost four more wickets while adding just 12 runs, slipping to 97/7. Later, Atul Diamond (22 runs off 15 balls) and Fasil Fanus (7 runs off 5 balls) to take joined forces to take the team's score to 125.
