KCL: Semifinals to take place today, Kollam Sailors top points table

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The semi-final matches of the inaugural edition of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) will take place on Tuesday. Aries Kollam Sailors secured the top spot in the points table after beating Thrissur Titans in the last league stage match. The first semi-final match, commencing at 2:30 pm tomorrow, will pit Adani Trivandrum Royals against Calicut Globstars. Later, at 6:30 pm, the second semi-final will see Kollam Sailors locking horns with Thrissur Titans in an exciting clash.

Kollam emerged victorious in the final league match by defeating Thrissur Titans by six wickets. Thrissur Titans, who batted first, scored 178 runs in 20 overs, losing seven wickets. In response, Kollam successfully chased down the target, securing a win in 19.1 overs while losing only four wickets. In the semi-finals, the team that finished first in the league will face the team that finished fourth, and the team that finished second will face the team that finished third.

Aries Kollam Sailors are leading the points table with 16 points, having lost only two matches. Calicut Globstars came second with 14 points. Trivandrum Royals followed with 10 points, while Thrissur Titans came fourth with 8 points. The final of the inaugural season of the Kerala Cricket League will take place on Wednesday.
