THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three constituent parties- CPI, RJD and NCP- demanded action against ADGP during the LDF meeting held the other day while other parties remained silent. The Chief Minister hinted at Anvar's allegations, along with other issues, in the introductory discussion. He said that action has been taken against some individuals in connection with allegations, including gold smuggling.

Later, when the agenda was read out, which included topics such as School Olympics, Wayanad rehabilitation, and by-elections, RJD representative Varghese George requested that the ADGP's meeting with RSS leaders be added to the agenda. However, LDF convener TP Ramakrishnan said that only items listed on the agenda can be discussed, and if required, the Chief Minister will provide further information on the matter.

The RJD representative insisted that the issue be discussed in the coordination committee, which is formed to discuss political issues. CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam, who pointed out that the ADGP's visit was against the Left Front's policies, demanded that the matter be discussed and the ADGP should be relieved of his law and order duties. The Chief Minister further explained that the investigation into the ADGP's actions encompasses his meeting with RSS leaders. However, NCP state president PC Chacko alleged that ADGP was behind the police action that disrupted the Thrissur Pooram celebrations, ignoring Minister Rajan's directions. He demanded that the ADGP be suspended for holding discussions with RSS leaders.

The Chief Minister explained that he was the target of the controversies surrounding the ADGP's visit. He stated that he and his family members have been facing continuous allegations from the opposition and media for some time now. He assured that the government's image will not be tarnished and that a senior official cannot be removed from duty based on allegations alone. The constituent parties relented after the CM said that the matter would be investigated and strong action will be taken if there is any truth in the allegations.
