Bus collides with bike; cousins die at Kochi-Dhanushkodi national highway

ADIMALI: Two youths, who were cousins, were killed when their bike collided with a private bus near Valara 5th Mile in Adimali on the Kochi-Dhanushkodi national highway. The deceased have been identified as Anshad Iqbal (18) and Afzal Nazar (22). The accident took place at around 4 pm yesterday. While overtaking a car, the bike collided with a private bus coming from the opposite direction.

The bike collided with a private bus operating on the Kothamangalam-Munnar route. Anshad, who sustained serious injuries, was admitted to a private hospital in Kothamangalam and Afzal to a private hospital in Ernakulam. Afzal died around 7 pm and Anshad died at around 9 pm. The youth arrived from Palakkad on Sunday for a visit to Munnar. The accident took place today afternoon when they were on their way back to Palakkad. Afzal is working in the Gulf. Anshad is a student.
