‘Should we send Lawrence Bishnoi? Death threat towards Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan, police begin probe

MUMBAI: There was a death threat towards Salim Khan, the father of superstar Salman Khan and scriptwriter of famous films in Bollywood. The incident happened early Thursday morning at around 8.45 am. A couple on a scooter threatened him near his residence Galaxy Apartments in Bandra West. This is the second time in recent days that Salim Khan has received death threats. The police registered a case on the complaint of his security officer.

88-year-old Salim Khan was sitting on a bench near his home in Bandra when a couple on a scooter stopped close to him and asked, "Lawrence Bishnoi ko bheju kya? (should we send Lawrence Bishnoi?)". The woman’s face was not clear as she was wearing a burqa. They later sped away.

On the complaint of Salim Khan's security officer Deepak Borse, the Bandra police started an investigation into the incident. Police Inspector Sanjay Marathe said the police are examining the CCTV footage of the spot and the search for the accused has been widened.

After Salman Khan was constantly threatened and shot at, now Salim Khan has also been threatened. On April 14, two people shot at the actor's house, Galaxy Apartment. The Bishnoi group later claimed responsibility for the attack. The group then responded by saying, 'This is the first and last warning to Salman.'

The attackers, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (23), were also arrested from Bhuj in Kutch, Gujarat. One of the attackers died in police custody. Salim Khan was able to understand only the vehicle number 7444 of those who threatened him. The complaint was filed later. The couple was arrested later. They said they were just playing a prank, a police officer said.

Salim Khan has scripted a handful of hit Bollywood films like Amitabh Bachchan starrer Sholay, Sanjeer, Don and Anil Kapoor's Mr India.
