Despite going south in box office collections during the mid-months of 2024, Malayalam cinema is back again filling the coffers, thanks to new Onam releases. ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ and ‘ARM’, the two major films released during Onam are competing with each other generating excellent responses from audiences. Tovino Thomas starrer 'ARM' earned Rs 50 crores in five days.
It is estimated that Asif Ali’s movie will soon reach the Rs 10 core mark after bookings have doubled across Kerala. ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ might turn out to be the biggest hit in Asif’s career. The mystery thriller directed by Dinjith Ayyathan has already generated rave response across the state.
On another note, Tovino’s ARM is minting profits from foreign countries as well. Directed by debutant Jithin Lal, the film stars Kriti Shetty, Aishwarya Rajesh and Surabhi Lakshmi as heroines. Written by Sujith Nambiar, the Cinematography is helmed by Jomon T John.
The film released in five languages is produced by Listin Stephen under the banner of Magic Frames and Dr Zakaria Thomas under the banner of UGM Motion Pictures.
