Mohanlal and Kaviyoor Ponnamma were the most loved mother-son combo in Malayalam. Mohanlal and Kaviyoor Ponnamma have worked together in many films. Now, Mohanlal has shared a post on Facebook with anguish on the demise of Kaviyoor Ponnamma.
"I never had to act as a son with Ponnamma chechi, I was living as her son. She always showered love on the character and the person I am just like a birth mom. We were mother and son to our favourite audience in Malayalam. The movies of us together at different times were a testament to the fact that no matter how much time has passed, a son is a son to the mother. Ponnamma Chechi was like the character in 'His Highness Abdullah' who came running to me calling me 'my son' even though I am not her son. My memories will always be filled with that motherly love," Mohanlal posted on facebook
Mohanlal's words
These words are written in the pain of my mother's demise. My beloved Ponnamma Chechi, who has always showered as much love as my birth mom on the character and the person I am. We were mother and son to our favourite audience in Malayalam. The movies of us together at different times were a testament to the fact that no matter how much time has passed, a son is a son to the mother. I never had to act as a son with Ponnamma chechi, I was living as her son. Kireedam, Bharatam, Vietnam Colony, Dasaratham, Natturajavu, Vadakkumnathan, Kizhakkunarum Pakshi, Oppam.. many movies where Ponnamma chechi showered me with the love of motherhood. For me, Ponnamma Chechi was like the character in 'His Highness Abdullah' who came running to me calling me 'my son' even though I am not her son. With sobbing words, I can't pay tribute to Chechi. Memories will always be filled with that motherly love.
