THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After a few muggy days that saw temperatures soaring in Kerala, The Indian meteorological department on Sunday, warned about rain returning to the state. A yellow alert has been announced in various districts for Monday and Tuesday. Monsoon will likely start withdrawing from West Rajasthan's Kutch region by tomorrow (September 23).
At high levels, the cyclonic circulation is located over the central west Bay of Bengal. Another cyclone is located in the Myanmar region.
Under the influence of these two cyclones, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the central west Bay of Bengal by September 23 and will intensify the rain situation in Kerala again, said IMD.
Light to medium rainfall is likely in Kerala for the next seven days. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places on September 23 and 24.
