Red card for son during football match, Youth arrested for disrupting match by waving sword

MUVATTUPUZHA: A man disrupted a football match after his son received a red card and was sent off for fouling during the football match. The incident happened during a football match attended by school children of Maradi. On seeing his son getting a red card, his father, Harris Amir (40) of Plamooch in Muvattupuzha, disrupted the game with a sword and turned towards the children who were playing and threatened them.


The dramatic incidents happened during the under-17 competition held at the Maradi Kurukunnapuram Panchayat ground. The argument started when the boy did not leave the field despite receiving a red card. Meanwhile, there was a fight between the players. Knowing that the boy was attacked by others, Harris arrived at the scene and waved a sword.

It is reported that Harris threatened to attack children on their way home from school. Harris' father P A Amir Ali is a senior league leader of Muvattupuzha, a member of the state committee of the league and a prominent businessman. By the time the police reached the spot after knowing about the commotion, Harris had already left. The police registered a case on the complaint of the children and arrested him. The DYFI filed a complaint with the district police chief demanding action in the incident.
