Water supply to be disrupted in many places in capital city; protest against continuous water supply disruption

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The water authority has informed that drinking water will be disrupted in around 101 places in the capital city today. The reason for the disruption of water supply is due to the maintenance works of the treatment plant in Aruvikkara. The water supply will be disrupted from 10 am to 6 pm.

Frequent water disruption in the capital city have been causing distress to the residents for the past few days. There was a huge protest in connection with the doubling of the railway line in Nagercoil due to the suspension of drinking water for six days due to the pipeline works.

Due to the maintenance works of the 86 MLD treatment plant at Aruvikkara, water supply will be disrupted in Vazhayila, Indira Nagar, Peroorkada, Oolampara, Hindustan Latex Factory surroundings, Mental Hospital Junction, Swathy Nagar, Soorya Nagar, Pippin Moodu, Jawahar Nagar, Golf Links, Kowdiar, Devaswom Board Junction, Cliff House, Nanthencode, Kuravankonam, Charachira, Plamoodu, Pattom, Kesavadasapuram, Gowreeshapattom, Paruthipara, Muttada, and Ambalamukku.

Water supply will be disrupted in Choozhampala, Mukkola, Nalanchira, Mannanthala, Sreekaryam, Engineering College, Gandhipuram, Chempazhanthy, Powdikonam, Keraladithyapuram, Kattela, Manvila, Manakunnu, Alathara, Cheruvaikkal, Njandoorkonam, Thrippadapuram, Chenkotuukonam, Kazhakoottam, Technopark, Pallipuram, Pottakuzhi, Murinjapalam, Kumarapuram, Medical College premises, Kannamoola, Karikkakom, Ulloor, Prashanth Nagar, Pongummoodu, Attipra, Kulathur, Poundkadavu, Karimanal, Kuzhivila and Vetturoad.

Water supply will be disrupted in Kattaikonam, Puthenpally, Attukal, Valiyathura, Poonthura, Beemapally, Manikyavilakam, Muttathara, Punchakkari, Karamana, Arannoor, Mudavanmukal, Nedumkadu, Kalady, Pappanamcode, Melamcode, Ponnumangalam, Vellayani, Estate, Nemom, Prasad Nagar, Thrikkannapuram, Punnakkamugal, Thirumala, Valiyavila, PTP, Kodunganoor, Kachani, Nettayam, Vattiyoorkavu, Kanjirampara, Pangode, Thuruthummoola etc.
