KOCHI: The government filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court pointing that actor Siddique facing a sexual abuse case, is challenging law. The government informed the Supreme Court that despite the high court rejecting his anticipatory bail plea, he is hiding in the shadow of the elites refusing to approve law. It has been decided to inform the court on Monday when Siddique's bail plea is being considered, including information related to this.
Police said Siddique is under the protection of the elites and the evidence obtained in this regard will be informed to the court. Look-out notices and advertisements given in newspapers of other states will also be informed. SP Merin Joseph and her team are going to Delhi on behalf of the special investigation team.
Merin Joseph arriving in Delhi is likely to meet Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati today. Aishwarya is a senior advocate appearing before the Supreme Court on behalf of the state government opposing Siddique's anticipatory bail plea. A Supreme Court bench comprising a woman judge will consider the actor’s anticipatory bail plea on Monday. This is the 62nd case in the two-judge bench comprising of Justices Bela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma.
Siddique is raising arguments such as the fact that the FIR was registered in 2024 after eight years in the case of the alleged abuse that happened in 2016. Credibility of witnesses is also questioned. The state government will strongly oppose the bail plea. If necessary, the evidence collected will be handed over to the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, the investigation team searched all the places where actor Siddique is likely to go. The police have concluded that he has not left the state. Siddique's mobile phone was on for some time but soon it was found to be switched off. He approached the Supreme Court when there were rumors of him surrendering.
