THALASSERY: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan unveiled the bronze statue of former CPM state secretary and Politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on his death anniversary. The ceremony, held at 11:30 am, was attended by speakers AN Shamsheer, Brinda Karat, CPI(M) state secretary MV Govindan, KK Shailaja, and PK Sreemathi, among other leaders.

A museum has been set up at Kodiyeri's house in Muliyilnada, commemorating his memories. The statue is located in the adjacent garden. Renowned sculptor Manoj Kumar, a native of Kannur, designed the statue. The 'Vinodini's Kodiyeri Family Collective' gallery is arranged on the top floor of the house. Around 200 photos of Kodiyeri from his childhood to his final moments are present in the gallery. Moments of meetings with national and international leaders can also be seen.

Pens, gifts, pocket diaries, handwritten copies of articles, book collection, bed and mattress, exercise equipment, spectacles, study table, and footwear are all present here. Visitors can also see the images of Kodiyeri's growth from the party branch in Kodiyeri to Delhi AKG Bhavan.
