THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state police chief is set to submit a report to the Chief Minister today, highlighting a serious lapse on the part of ADGP MR Ajith Kumar for secretly meeting with two prominent RSS leaders. The DGP will recommend the Chief Minister to remove Ajith Kumar from law and order duties.

IPS officers are prohibited from attending political discussions and meetings with leaders. However, Ajith violated this rule. He even avoided using his official vehicle to keep the meeting under wraps.

ADGP Ajith Kumar had met RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale in Thrissur and Ram Madhav in Kovalam. DGP Sheikh Darwesh Saheb dismissed ADGP's claim that the meetings were personal, stating that there's no need for ADGP to meet leaders without official positions. The ADGP allegedly met RSS leaders secretly, aiming to conceal the matter from the Crime Branch and others.

A meeting that lasted more than eight hours was held in the DGP's chamber yesterday to finalize the report. IG Sparjan Kumar, DIG Thomson Jose, SPs S Madhusoodanan, and A Shanavas participated in the meeting. The probe was not able to find that Ajith had a role in the murder related to gold smuggling and the disappearance of real estate dealer Mami.
