THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar clarified that the state government has no immediate plans to enforce the mandatory use of child seats in cars. Speaking to the media, he emphasized that the government had not even considered implementing such a measure.

“The Transport Commission only referenced what the law states, but there is no intention to impose it on the public. The aim was to raise awareness, not to collect fines. The law can be implemented only if the court says so, or if the central government says so. It's very difficult to follow all the rules. The Transport Commission only intended for the issue to be discussed," the minister said.
