'Not cooperating, didn't hand over phone to cops'; questioning of actor Siddique ends

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After one long hour of questioning session at Thiruvananthapuram cantonment station, actor Siddique was allowed to leave by the police. It is reported that Siddique is not cooperating with the investigation. The actor appeared before the police on Saturday accompanied by his son Shaheen Siddique and actor Biju Pappan.

Siddique avoided many of the questions and cared not to respond putting the SIT team in a fix. The actor even failed to submit the phone, iPod and other documents he used in 2016. The investigation team had earlier requested the actor to submit the documents at the earliest. It looks like the actor won't be summoned again for questioning while the SIT team has decided to fight the battle on the court.

According to the young actress's complaint, Siddique summoned her to the Mascot Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram on the pretext of discussing a movie role but ended up sexually molesting her. Siddique himself has admitted to meeting the complainant in Thiruvananthapuram in 2016.

The Supreme Court earlier stayed the actor's arrest for two weeks. Siddique went absconding after the High Court rejected his anticipatory bail and resurfaced only after getting bail from the Supreme Court.

It is reported that Siddique informed the SIT team about maintaining contact with the complainant even after the alleged incident inside the Mascot Hotel. However, no documents proving the veracity of the claims have been produced.

Last Monday, Siddique was summoned for the first time by the investigating team. However, the actor was released without questioning as he did not produce the documents requested by the police.
