MUMBAI: Crucial information has emerged in the murder of Baba Siddique, former Maharashtra minister and leader of the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP. According to police reports, the assailants burst firecrackers to mask the sound of gunshots, preventing immediate alarm.

At the time of the attack, Siddique was outside the office of his son, a sitting MLA from Bandra, participating in Dussehra celebrations and bursting firecrackers. Three masked men on a motorcycle approached and fired multiple shots at Siddiqui using a 9.9 mm pistol. He was struck in the chest and collapsed. Despite being rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, Siddique later succumbed to his injuries.

A bullet also struck Siddique's vehicle, which was parked nearby, and police recovered three bullet remnants from the crime scene.

Two suspects, Karnail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, have been arrested in connection with the murder. During interrogation, the suspects admitted to being members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which is suspected of orchestrating the attack. The police are currently searching for a third individual involved in the crime.
