KOCHI: In an interesting revelation, it was found that the Tamil Nadu natives, arrested for spreading pirated copies of newly released movies, are top graduates. The youngsters received Rs 10,000 for every assignment that involved filming pirated versions from theatres.

The pirated version is spread mostly by top officials in the IT sector. Police reports suggest that the duo were getting Rs 44,000 per month and Rs 10,000 per film from the infamous Tamil Rockers group, known for circulating pirated copies.

The two youngsters entered this new vocation through a resident of Sathyamangalam, Tamil Nadu. The police have started a search for him. Details are being gathered and it was found that a large chunk of cash reached the bank accounts of the two youngsters. The investigation team is all set to submit a request for custodial interrogation of the youngsters to unearth shadier secrets of the clique.

Malayalam films never used to be a craze outside the southern belt and thus no serious inspection would happen inside theatres in Kerala. The youngsters took leverage of the situation to furtively record the video and later circulate the pirated version. About 35 fake versions of the released films were found in the mobile phones of the accused.
