PATHANAMTHITTA: “One among the few officials we could entrust any work with 100 per cent trust” This was how former Pathanamthitta collector P B Nooh remembered ADM Naveen Babu, who committed suicide on Tuesday.

P B NOOH:

“2018 to January 2021 was a very eventful period in my official life. The floods of 2018, the controversies surrounding women's entry into Sabarimala and finally the COVID-19 pandemic consisted of the motley many cases that ensured tireless working days for us. If not for the help of officials like Naveen Babu, we would not have been able to overcome the crisis.

Naveen Babu was gentle, interacted with people without bureaucratic restrictions and worked efficiently. When thousands of children came forward to work as volunteers during the 2018 flood, there was no better officer than Naveen Babu to coordinate them. Naveen Babu's organizational skills were evident in coordinating the complaints of the Covid Quarantine Center in Thiruvalla during the 2019 Covid period.

Naveen, who always graced a smile on his face, never complained and got along with anyone, is now bidding goodbye in the worst ever way. It breaks my heart to see someone who worked for the common man in a department that demanded inexplicable commitment and a pile load of work, leaving like this. For his last 30 years of unparalleled work ethics and commitment, Naveen deserved a better send-off.”
