'Invited by Collector, spoke only with good intentions'; PP Divya files anticipatory bail plea

KANNUR: PP Divya, who has been charged with abetment of suicide in connection with the death of ADM Naveen Babu, has filed an anticipatory bail plea. Divya filed the petition in the Thalassery Principal Sessions Court. It is said that she came to the ceremony after being invited by the District Collector. On the morning of the incident, she participated in another event with the collector. Divya's petition also states that she received the invitation then.

Arriving slightly late to the farewell event, Deputy Collector Shruti invited Divya to speak. Numerous complaints had been received regarding Naveen Babu's delay in processing files. In addition to Prashanth, Gangadharan also lodged a complaint against him. Based on Divya's petition, she spoke with the intention of expediting the clearance of the file. Her words were not meant to pressure him into taking his own life. She expressed her willingness to cooperate with the investigation and assured that there would be no attempt to flee. She has also requested bail and presented a full account of what was said.
