ADIMALI: A case has been registered against the students, who entered the excise office asking matchbox to light ganja. The students entered the excise office with ganja thinking it was a workshop. A case has been registered against two minor students. The students were released later and sent with their teachers. The students of a group, who were on a pleasure trip from Thrissur to Munnar, went to the excise office.

The team went for the pleasure trip with the teachers. After eating from a hotel near the excise enforcement office in Adimali, about five students went near a building. The students were not aware that it was the building of the excise office. Many vehicles were parked there. The students attempted to light the ganja here. Meanwhile, the students realized that it was excise office when they opened the door of the building and asked for a match. When they tried to run away, the officers stopped them and checked them, and got the ganja from their hands.

Excise found five grams of ganja, hashish oil and some other things. As the students are minors, the excise cannot detain them for long. Therefore, after registering a case, handed over the report to the juvenile justice board. The parents of the students were called and released after counselling.
