MUMBAI: After being dropped from the Mumbai Ranji Trophy squad due to his poor form, Prithvi Shaw has come out with a reaction. The undisciplined behaviour of the cricketer was a major headache for the Maharashtra Cricket Association. The former Indian opener has not been able to match his talent for quite some time now. The cricketer was also not accurate in training to improve his performance. Prithvi's lifestyle, which was not at all focused on his fitness, was a major headache for the selection committee.
After taking strong action against Prithvi Shaw, the player has given his reply through Instagram status. "Need a break thx," Shah wrote. Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane was also against Shaw's selection in the squad. The association has not given any explanation as to why Shah was not selected.
While Shaw did not turn up for training, senior players like Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer and Shardul Thakur trained hard to make a comeback to the Indian team. Shaw, who scored centuries on his Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy debuts, won the World Cup title in 2018 as India Under-19 captain. Shaw, who later made his Test debut against the West Indies and was part of the senior team in international cricket, scored a century in that match as well. 24-year-old Shah has fallen into a major slump after six years.
