PALAKKAD: PV Anvar MLA has responded to the allegation that people were hired to attend his party's convention yesterday. Speaking to a media outlet, Anvar said that it was the CPM that sent some people to the convention organised by the Democratic Movement of Kerala (DMK).
"CPM is behind the incident where some people were hired and sent for the rally organised by DMK. I haven't hired anyone to take part in my party's rally," Anvar said.
He also said he endured humiliation by withdrawing his party's candidate from Palakkad only to prevent the BJP from winning the constituency. On Wednesday, DMK had withdrawn the candidature of Minhaj, a philanthropist, in the Palakkad by-election. Anvar also announced that he will support UDF candidate Rahul Mamkootathil in Palakkad.
Anvar said at the convention that he was supporting Rahul Mamkootathil without any conditions. "I am not supporting Congress leaders because of their strength. I am bearing all this despite being insulted two days ago," he said.
