Husband commits suicide after strangling his wife to death

KADANADU: A husband ended his life after strangling his wife to death. The deceased have been identified as Kadanadu native Roy (60) and his wife Jansi (55). The incident came to light around 12:30 p.m. yesterday. Roy had called his elder brother Sebastian, who lives in Thodupuzha, at around 11:30 a.m. Sensing something was wrong in Roy's tone, Sebastian alerted the neighbours. Roy was found hanging, and Jansi’s body was lying on the floor.

Their only son, Augustin, is a Class 3 student at St. Mathew's LP School, Kadannappally. The child was in tuition class when the incident took place. Police said that Roy and Jansi used to frequently quarrel over financial issues. However, locals claim that the family was financially well-off.

A police team led by Pala DySP K Sadan, along with forensic experts, reached the spot. The bodies were then taken to Kottayam Medical College Hospital for post-mortem procedures.
