No immediate party action against Divya, issue not discussed in district secretariat

KANNUR: There will be no immediate party action against P P Divya , who has been remanded in the case related to the suicide of ADM Naveen Babu. The CPM district secretariat that convened here today did not discuss the issue. As party area meetings start from tomorrow, matters related to it were discussed.

Not a full secretariat meeting was convened here today. The removal of Divya from the post of district panchayat president is considered by a section as action against her. The general feeling is that no disciplinary action should be taken during the session.

Party activists accompanied her even when she came to surrender before the police yesterday. Even when the police reached the magistrate's house with Divya, DYFI and Democratic Women's Association activists came in support her. With no action being taken, it is clear that Divya will still be protected by the party.
