THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran has said that the Sandeep Warrier issue will not put the party in any crisis. "Sandeep does not create any crisis. Senior party leader and general secretary P Sudheer had spoken to Sandeep. Let's see how far Sandeep Warrier will go," Surendran responded.
"I myself spoke to Sandeep twice. The party had taken disciplinary action earlier. It was withdrawn and Sandeep was held close back then. All this should not be discussed during elections. We have nurtured a lot of youngsters including Sandeep. When I contested against Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad, Sandeep was specially put in charge of my election campaign. Sandeep was sent to the highest-rated channels back then."
"How many days will media attention, big hype and hero worship last? How many days will the media go after Sandeep? Will anyone go to the CPM and the Congress, which are sinking ships?" asked Surendran.
Sandeep Warrier had shared a Facebook post revealing the reason behind his tussle with the BJP. Sandeep explained that the reason for his withdrawal was his mental distance from Palakkad NDA candidate Krishnakumar. Sandeep wrote emotionally that Krishnakumar was someone who did not come and console him even when his mother passed and even when many leaders of the CPM and the Congress came, no one from the state committee put a single wreath for his mother.
Sandeep Warrier wrote on Facebook that the son of Govinda Warrier, who served in the Indian Army and participated in three wars, and Rukmini Teacher, who was the headmaster of Chethallur school, cannot stake his self-respect.
Following this, Palakkad NDA candidate C Krishnakumar also responded that if Sandeep Warrier was upset, it would be resolved. "I would talk to Sandeep if there was a problem from my side. I was not present at the spot when Sandeep's mother died. I had called Sandeep on the phone," said C Krishnakumar.
