US presidential election to take place today

WASHINGTON: The campaign for the US presidential election, filled with challenges and mutual accusations, has come to an end. The election will take place today. Polling will begin 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. IST (7 a.m. and 9 a.m. local time) and will conclude between 5:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. IST tomorrow. Out of a total of 244 million voters, 70 million have already cast their ballots through early voting.

Results will start coming in within the first hour after voting ends. Meanwhile, exit poll results will be released tomorrow at 2:30 AM IST. The presidential election campaign has seen a neck-and-neck contest between Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican candidate Donald Trump. The survey results have been fluctuating daily.
