PALAKKAD: Sandeep Varier said that it his firm decision not to campaign for the BJP in the Palakkad by-polls. In an interview to a media, he said let time judge whether his actions were right or wrong.
‘Briefed issues with RSS representative A Jayakumar. If my complaints had been heard earlier, this issue would not have occurred. Giving me the responsibility of coordinating electioneering in Wayanad, should not be presented as his gratis. It is an acknowledgement of my merit and did it well.
Spoke against the attempts to eliminate me from the party. I am grateful to the CPM leaders for saying good words about me. However, will not join the CPM. I am now in the BJP. Spoke against the attempts to eliminate me from my own district. Went to Palakkad on the assurance given by Surendran that I would not be humiliated, but that was wrong. Was humiliated again in the convention. It was only when I had to endure such humiliation again that I spoke openly,' Sandeep clarified.
There were speculations that Sandeep Varier, who is at odds with the BJP leadership, will join the CPM. When asked whether he would join the CPM, Sandeep responded that he could not comment on the matter at the moment. BJP leader P R Sivasankaran and RSS leader Jayakumar had personally visited Sandeep’s house to persuade him.
Sandeep Varier had earlier said that he was insulted and that C Krishnakumar had tried to eliminate him. If K Surendran had been willing to sort things, then would have been a little happier. Not part of any group within the party. Still a BJP worker at this moment. Has never felt like a great leader even to face expulsion from the party. Sandeep Varier had earlier clarified that he is not worried or thinking about such an action being taken by the party leadership.
