MALAPPURAM: Missing Tirur deputy Tahsildar PB Chalib has finally reached home, ending the trepidation of his family members. The officer who went missing last Wednesday reached his home late Friday night.

Chalib had talked to his wife on the phone the other day. It was said that he was staying away due to mental stress. He assured me of returning soon and also confirmed his safety. After this, his phone went into switch-off mode.

On Wednesday evening, Chalib left his office and informed his wife that he would be home late. Soon after, Chalib went untraceable.

Only once did a message reach the family from Chalib saying that he was involved in a raid at Irimbiliyam accompanied by Excise and Police. During the night, a missing complaint was lodged at Tirur police station.
