PALAKKAD: CPM state secretary MV Govindan said that the trolley bag controversy will convert into votes for the LDF. The CPM leader admitted that it was a closely held fight in Palakkad but kept hope about LDF emerging victorious.

M V Govindan:

“By-elections are being held in three constituencies in Kerala. Palakkad has become everyone's focus point. Despite Priyanka Gandhi contesting in Wayanad, the limelight is still on Palakkad. It is a very close fight in the constituency and such situations are always welcome to LDF and it is exciting nevertheless.

Last time, E Sreedharan contested as a BJP candidate from Palakkad and got a big vote share. It is clear to anyone that BJP won’t be getting the same votes in this election. Even Rahul Mamkootathil is not getting the votes that Shafi received in Palakkad. The trolley bag controversy should be discussed in Kerala and it has helped LDF gain ground in the constituency.”
