RANCHI: With the first phase of assembly elections in the state set to take place on Wednesday, political fronts in Jharkhand have intensified their campaign activities. BJP has brought in Prime Minister Narendra Modi as its star campaigner to put an end to the rule of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). Modi will hold roadshows in Ranchi, Bokaro and Gumla today. He will then address various public rallies in the state.
The 'INDIA' alliance is leaving no stone unturned to retain power in the state. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, JMM leader and Chief Minister Hemant Soren are its star campaigners. Hemant Soren's wife Kalpana Soren and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav are also actively participating in campaign works. Out of 81 Assembly seats in Jharkhand, voting for 43 seats will take place on the 13th. The second phase will be on the 20th, and votes will be counted on the 23rd.
