PALAKKAD: Sandeep Varier, who recently left the BJP to join the Congress, has updated his Facebook bio, replacing "BJP State Committee Member" with "Congress Worker." The change has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with comments ranging from warm welcomes to sharp criticisms.
Supporters of his move expressed optimism and solidarity. Comments such as "Welcome to the Indian National Congress, a secular movement" and "Welcome from the market of hate to the shop of love" flooded his post. Others noted his departure from the RSS-BJP fold, stating, "Welcome to Sandeep Warrier, who entered the Congress party to make RSS Mukta Bharat a reality." Another user wrote, "Beyond the barriers of religion and caste, humanity can be filled. Welcome!"
However, not everyone was as enthusiastic. Critics questioned his decision, with one user commenting, "You will soon realize that the decision to join the Congress will be suicidal." Others accused him of prioritizing personal gain over national interest: "It is clear that politics is only a career for you. Politics should primarily be for those who want the good of the nation." A disappointed follower said, "I was a big fan of yours, but what you have done now is a gross fraud." Another warned, "It is natural to feel angry, but you will regret this decision. Time will tell."
