POTHENCODE: New evidence has come to light in the death of Ammu A Sajeev, a final-year student at S A E Nursing College, Chuttippara, Pathanamthitta, raising further questions about the circumstances surrounding her death. College authorities have stated that Ammu jumped from the building, and her classmates reportedly contacted a teacher at 4:30 PM on the day of the incident. However, it has been revealed that Ammu was not taken to Pathanamthitta General Hospital, located two and a half kilometers away, until 5:15 PM, nearly an hour later. Hospital records show discrepancies, indicating that it took longer to reach the hospital, where Ammu was reportedly kept for over an hour and a half.

Ammu's parents are demanding that those who obstructed her transfer to Kottayam Medical College Hospital be questioned. Ammu's mother, Radhamani, recounted trying to contact the hostel warden repeatedly after learning about her daughter's accident. However, the warden did not respond initially and, when finally reached, claimed that Ammu had slipped and fallen while retrieving clothes from the terrace.

Witness statements have raised doubts about the cause of the injuries. According to Bindu Sathyan, a witness at the inquest, there were no signs of injuries consistent with a fall from the top of a building. Ammu’s clothes showed no blood stains, mud or soil, only a small bruise on one side of her forehead and two marks on the back of her head.

Ammu’s relatives believe that a detailed investigation into a group of nine students, who were reportedly hostile toward her, could reveal the truth. Following an argument, Ammu had been moved to a different room and the student who was previously sharing the room with her had left for vacation, leaving Ammu alone.
