Stray dog menace; Kerala University office superintendent dies

VARKALA: An office superintendent of Kerala University Press died after falling from a scooter and a tipper lorry running over her. She fell from the scooter while trying to avoid a stray dow that jumped across the road. Vineetha (42), a resident of Avittam Villa on ESI Junction IOC Road in Parippally in Kollam, died while undergoing treatment. The accident took place at around 7.30 am on Friday near Kochuparippally when she was travelling with her husband Jayakumar to go to work. When the stray dog jumped across, the scooter overturned and the two fell on the road. The tipper that followed ran over Vineetha's body. Vineetha, who was rushed to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, died yesterday morning while undergoing treatment.

Jayakumar escaped with injuries. Children: Neeraj and Niranjan. Several people, including syndicate members and officials, paid their last respects to the body which was kept for public viewing at the Palayam Senate House campus. Vineetha joined the service in 2018.
