Basil Joseph and actor Tovino Thomas are good friends, both in reel and real life. The two often engage in social media banter and waste no opportunity to troll each other.

Tovino recently talked about a funny incident during the finals of a Super League football match in Kochi. A player of the winning team ‘Forca Kochi’, ignored Basil’s presence and walked directly to team owner Prithviraj to exchange social pleasantries. The incident caught on camera went viral across the internet.

“Basil got humiliated at the function and he took it in his stride. Let me ask you one thing. Just imagine any other actor in place of Basil and would you expect the incident to end up as funny?

It is funny for everyone only because it was Basil, who was at the receiving end of the insult. I felt bad there and also revealed the same to him. It is only because a few people, including me and Basil, are ready to take things in a lighter sense that every issue turns out to be hilarious. It would be the polar opposite if it were for any other actor”
