ALAPPUZHA: A critical report has now cast doubt on the death of a 17-year-old girl at Alappuzha Medical College Hospital. It is doubted that the teen attempted suicide as the police recovered a heartfelt note penned by the girl from her house. The date was not mentioned but the handwriting was confirmed to be her's. In the note, the victim apologised to her parents for her wrong decisions.

The postmortem report stated that the girl was pregnant. A male classmate of the girl was picked up by police and interrogated last day. From the grilling session, it came out that the two had been in a covert relationship for some long. The student’s blood sample will be collected and a POCSO case will be registered against him. Adoor police had already registered a case of unnatural death in the incident.

The girl was admitted to Adoor General Hospital due to heavy fever. She was later shifted to Vandanam Medical College, where her condition worsened and she died. Based on the post-mortem report, the Adoor police took up the case voluntarily.
