Serial killer arrested, commits murders on trains, victims were women travelling alone

GANDHI NAGAR: The police have arrested a serial killer who murdered four train passengers in four states. The arrested is Rahul Singh Jat, a 29-year-old of Rohtak in Haryana. It has already been clarified that he killed four people. He was arrested when the police were investigating the murder of a 19-year-old woman. He raped and murdered her when she was returning home from tuitions.

The police conducted a search near the place where the body was found and recovered a discarded T-shirt and bag. An investigation conducted led to Rahul Singh. Getting a clear picture of him also made it easier to reach to the accused. He committed murders in Karnataka, West Bengal, Telangana and Maharashtra. He confessed to committing more murders during interrogation.

Police said that he had committed a murder a day before his arrest. He robbed, attacked and killed a train passenger near Secunderabad station in Telangana. His victims were women traveling alone. Rahul, who studied till class 5, was involved in criminal activities including theft since childhood. After several attempts to change their son's behavior failed, his parents ended their relationship with Rahul. He then slept and roamed around the railway station and in trains.

Rahul was arrested after a major operation conducted by a police team from the states of Haryana, Rajasthan and Karnataka. They also examined the footage of more than 2,000 CCTV cameras. Police said that it was very difficult to catch him as he was on trains most of the time.
