Young cricketer collapses, dies of cardiac arrest while playing cricket

PUNE: A young cricketer died of heart attack during a cricket match. The incident happened at the Garware Stadium in Pune on Thursday. He has been identified as Imran Sikandar Patel aged 35. Opening batsmen Imran complained of chest and arm pains after spending time on the pitch. He first informed the umpires and then after the umpires gave permission, he collapsed while returning from the ground.


The entire incident was caught on camera. Visuals show Imran saying about physical discomfort and returning unable to overcome it. After Imran collapsed, other players can be seen running towards him. Although he was immediately taken to the hospital, he had died by then.


The fact that Imran suffering a heart attack despite being physically fit has surprised everyone. It is reported that Imran Patel was a great all-rounder. Other players said Imran has never complained of heart issues. Imran has three children, including a four-month-old daughter. Imran has his own cricket team. He is also active in the real estate business.

In September, another player named Habib died in a similar manner during a match in Pune. However, Habib was reportedly a diabetic.
